It’s not that I don’t have free time anymore, it’s that it usually comes in chunks of 0.2-5 minutes. There’s a puzzle hunt on now, Galactic, which has always been pretty good and I think it is this year but I barely know since I’ve only tuned in for a couple puzzles. Since the beginning of August, we have 6 weekends straight of visiting family (or once friends) or having them visit us.
Some other things that have been interesting:
- audio journaling; get my thoughts out easily. Curiously, I don’t seem to have many thoughts even when I think I do.
- TRE1 is kinda neat. You do a couple exercises like a wall sit for 5 minutes, and then just kinda lie there while tremors shake through your body. Shaking feels important to me; I naturally do it sometimes; there’s something there. I don’t know what though.
- still taking voice lessons, sporadically. It’s still fun.
- new lifting records: 165 bench (2x8), 245 deadlift (1x5), 205 squat (2x8). These are nice milestones as my own weight is about 160. Much as I kinda don’t care, and I am very much erring on the side of caution, it is always fun to see number go up.
- our son’s in preschool. (pre-preschool?) it’s going as smoothly as possible, but changes are never easy at this age.
And I lost a good friend to cancer recently. You might know him; I won’t talk more on this public blog. That’s been hard.
“tension releasing exercises” or “trauma releasing exercises” depending on who you ask but I’ll stick with “tension” because gosh not everything is about trauma ↩︎
